RESIDENCIES

Elation Center for the Arts provides schools with arts in education programs that enhance the curriculum and help young people develop their potential academically, socially and emotionally.

"A World of Music" Residency - Cultural awareness through the performing arts

A select group of 35 gorgeously costumes students perform an exciting and colorful concert of music and dance from around the world for the entire school with Paul and Carla Roberts. This residency offers students an opportunity to gain greater awareness and appreciation for different cultures, and helps them develop their artistic abilities and teamwork skills.

A World of Music residencies range from one to five days for most schools.

"Ancient Cultures" Residency

A model arts program developed in Pagosa Springs that combines a music and dance performance with social studies curriculum. The production is a unique blend of music, stories dances and skits from around the world, with over 120 students wearing elaborate, colorful costumes.

"Ancient Cultures" residencies can be three to eight weeks for a school wide immersion.

"Students come away from this program with a multi-sensory understanding of social studies," according to Pagosa Springs Intermediate School Principal Mark DeVoti. "They get a chance to relive ancient history in a way I've never seen before. Thanks to Paul and Carla Roberts, students are able to take what they only used to get in textbooks and bring it to life."
